2.0 A Comparison of the Bible with External Sources

In this section I want to look at and understand how the contents of the Bible relates to external records. There are many examples where biblical events are confirmed by other historical records, but for the Bible to be correct it must be consistent with external facts. When the Bible differs from the external evidence we need be critical of both sides and seek to understand which is more accurate. In doing so we must not pre-judge the outcome by assuming that the one record always takes priority over the other; going about it this way does not lead to truth.
